She thought she was going to die.

She lied on a mattress in her bathroom floor. Her flooded apartment began to swerve side to side. She looked at my fiance and said, “this is it.”

Jennifer Herrera lives in Puerto Rico, where she has lived the devastating effects of Hurricane Maria. After surviving the storm, she dedicated the next 2 months to using her expertise as a celebrity chef to save lives. And she saved millions of them.

Jen served 3.2 million meals over the next 71 days. She opened 22 kitchens throughout the island of Puerto Rico. She worked with the World Central Kitchen to serve 5,000 meals a day.

Because of her work, she was featured on CNN by Anderson Cooper, and is now getting international attention.

Jennifer Herrera is a Latin American Chef, food writer, instructor, consultant and television personality. She recently accomplished her apprenticeship in one of the top Latin American restaurants of the world, Astrid y Gaston in Lima, Peru with Chef Gaston Acurio. She has appeared as a celebrity chef on the Food Network, graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, and has worked with some of the most famous chefs like Jose Andres, Jonathan Waxman, and Gaston Acurio.

Jennifer brings a successful background as a social entrepreneur, philanthropist, and influencer in the food, environment, and social impact world for the last 15 years, and she is looking forward to sharing her experiences with BRG participants.
